My Inspiration

  • Joyce Tenneson – American photographer whose photos are etheric and simply beautiful  portraits, capturing the very essence of the soul.
  • Ansel Adams-  Iconic landscape  photographer, his landscapes to me are simply maps to the soul, just raw beauty!
  • Deborah Rossouw – Local South African photographer. I love her style, its simply edgy in a mesmerizing kinda way
  • Silence
  • My beautiful mother, Pauline Stewart, I love you with all my heart and soul!!! And dammit I miss you!! but I feel you with me always…
  • My father, Keith Stewart,  whom I adore and love with all my heart and who is my greatest fan and biggest supporter. I love you Dad more than you know!!!
  • My Granny Stewart, the epitome of a grandmother, no, actually a super Gran, who taught me about my family history, all the way back to Mary Queen of Scotts, and shared the stories, many stories, including Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland, as well as those of her childhood and my fathers…. filled with love and hope and romance (I treasure my Gran and Grandpa’s amazing love story that blossomed during WW2)  but above all she taught me resilience, acceptance and FAITH, through her all her many journey’s with cancer, loss, and, well, life in general.  I love you my beautiful gran, and miss you, but I THANK YOU with ALL MY Heart, you are my inspiration!!!
  • Love
  • Poetry
  • Memories – all of them, the good the bad and the ugly
  • My beautiful friends who support and love me and tolerate my tantrums, and who fix my wings on a regualar basis
  • Anything vintage
  • 1950’s pin-up art
  • Music, music, music, anything from, Ignite, Rise Against, Bauhaus, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Edith Piaf , The Beatles (my dads all time best band), Creedence Clearwater Revival to Heather Nova, Sarah Mclachlan, Skinny Puppy ( my all time best band) Cocteau Twins  to New Model Army, Psytrance and every genre inbetween,
  • Angelique Houtkamp – A stunningly talented tattoo artist from the Netherlands. Like me, she loves vintage and is kinda stuck in the 40’s, her art is classic old style tattoo art with a gorgeous feminine touch.
  • My best friend, Paul Collocott, who is a very talented tattoo artist, his commitment, passion and drive has contributed to his success as a tattoo artist, I’ve learnt a great deal from him…. like, follow your heart,  believe in  yourself, perserve, perserve, perserve and pursue your passion COMPLETELY.  Live your dream and simply fulfill your purpose, be who you are and do what makes your heart happy. I like this …  it speaks to my soul.  Thanks Pauly, my awesomest friend,
  • My stunningly mad cat, Gandalf, he has been the perfect model for me, and what a handsome model at that, he looooves the camera and tolerates me shoving it in his face on a very regular basis.
  • Kalhil Gibran – The Prophet
