Jackie & Kirsty – Mom & daughter photo shoot in Newtown – Johannesburg photographer

5 Jun

I have known Kirsty and Jackie for many years and have always admired their incredibly close relationship, they love each other dearly and it shows, and they have so much fun together, it’s  a really special bond.

I photographed Kirsty’s 30th birthday party in  November, also held in the city, at the awesome #1 bar in Braamfontein, what a super awesome party with an extraordinary view of the city, I loved it so much I carried on shooting till 3am, Kirsty really appreciated that.

Kirsty loves the city so much, and any opportunity she gets to spend time there partying, or just exploring, she will take it, so  she really loved the idea of doing the mom and daughter shoot, that she had bought for her mom as a mother’s day gift, in Newtown, this for her was just the perfect location. Mom Jackie was a little nervous,  when we met on Sunday afternoon outside Museum Africa,  simply because of the stigma the city still carries to some, but she  soon got over her initial apprehension, and really enjoyed herself. Kirsty and Jackie had such fun with this shoot, and of course so did I.

I will say it again, I love the city, and seriously need to spend loads more time exploring.

The prettiest girl in pink – Johannesburg family photographer

24 Nov

I met Renate, Andre and gorgeous Dune at Johannesburg Botanical gardens in Emmerentia, for their family shoot. On that particular day the gardens were crowded, to say the least, but we were on our own mission and so we made our way from the bottom of the botanical gardens right to the top, stopping here and there to do some shots, we had to dodge and dive loads of people that day, but we managed to find some awesome spots, and so I got the pics I had planned. I really enjoyed this shoot, and oh my word! Dune is such a gorgeous little girl and oh so friendly, I managed to get some really beautiful shots of her.  I really love what I do, and I so  love family photo shoots like these, thank you ,my lovely clients xx

A family fashion shoot -with hats, sunglasses and the Bokke – Johannesburg Family Photographer

20 Sep

Hlengiwe wanted to do a shoot at home with her two sisters and her son. When I got to her place there was a buzz in the air, they were all so excited, which in turn made me excited. Hlengiwe and her sisters are such bubbly people and they giggled and laughed the whole way through the shoot. We started the shoot with a salute to the Bokke, they all put on their Springbok  jerseys  and we cheered good luck to “Our” team, the Bokke. Then we moved on to the casual wear with sunglasses and finally finished off with the ladies dressing up in beautiful outfits,  of course lets not forget the gorgeous hats. Thanks guys, I had a really wonderful time with you all.

Vintage style shoot with Lane and Albert at Sammy Marks Museum

2 Jun

Lane knew that Sammy Marks Musuem would be the perfect venue for the type of shoot she wanted to do. I love it when my cleints find awesome venues for their shoots, and this was a really stunning venue.  The shoot was split into two parts,  the first half  with gorgoeus couple, Lane and Albert and the second half,  with Lane’s family.   I edited the pics with a vintage feel in mind as this is what Lane envisioned.   What more can I say except… take a look at the pics, this was one of my favourite shoots for many reasons. Thanks Lane and Albert, you guys were so chilled and so willing to follow direction.  Thanks to Lane’s mom, dad and brother for their enthusiastic participation at the end of the shoot.

A very cute engagement shoot

31 May

Annette and christo  are getting married in October and they wanted to do an engagement shoot a few months prior to their wedding, so that they could incorporate one of the photos into their wedding invivtations.  I just have to say this, I love the fact that Annette  loves wearing dresses, and she wore some really pretty dresses for her shoot .  This lovely couple is so cute, down to earth and loads of fun to shoot, I  really had an awesome time with them. I wish Annette & Christo  all the very best for their future together,  this was a very cute engagement shoot indeed!
